Working with the Design Team and embedded within the design department. As a test engineer, you will be responsible for analysing product features, designing test parameters, and writing up final test procedures of mechanical or electric systems to ensure that customers receive high-quality, functional productions. Interpreting drawings, PCB layout and product schematics. Fault finding and tracing faults down to the component level. Running tests through the NPD lifecycle on various components and features to analyse test results and identify the root cause of malfunctions and fix technical issues. Liaising with Customers' technical teams to build long-term technical relationships. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our final products meet our safety and quality standards. Understand and interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, technical manuals and instructions. Run quality controls on components and final products. Review test procedures and instructions before starting the system testing processes. Develop test environments and test cases for all electronic systems. Analyse test results, detect issues and track root causes. Troubleshoot test defects in a timely fashion and suggest fixes and improvements. Document technical issues and solutions. Build automated testing systems for regular checks. Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards (e.g., ISO). Diagnosing electronic systems, sub-assemblies, and circuits down to a component level. Develop test plan and procedures for electronic systems. Maintain complete and accurate documentations for system testing. Write system assembly instructions and resolve assembly issues accurately. Evaluate system performance and suggest improvements. Work with cross-functional teams on multiple projects within deadlines. Skill set of the role:
Essential
Experience in New Product Introduction and/or New Product Development Experienced Electronic and Electrical Product Test Ability to devise test specification and quality plans for electromechanically products. Previous experience as a Test Engineer or similar role Evaluating new electrical and electronic product samples for compliance to UK and EU conformity standards and Directives Understanding of product testing methodologies & MSA (measurement systems analysis) Operation of electronic test equipment oscilloscopes, mustimeters etc. Proficient in fault finding to component level. Test report writing Great Troubleshooting skills Ability to analyse test results to identify failures. Ability to complete tasks against tight deadlines. Writing various Test plans Proficient in Microsoft Office Desired
Engineering Degree Experience of working in a quality, design environment Knowledge of injection moulding, polymers or electronics manufacturing Experience of IEC60335 and IEC61000 Electronics Qualifications (HND / HNC in electronics or City and Guilds 224 or higher). Design & development exposure SPC experience AutoCAD / Solid works Six Sigma methodologies Microsoft SharePoint Experience and good practice knowledge in FMEA, RCA, PPAP, APQP Knowledge of quality standards and regulations.
