The purpose of this role is to meet increased testing demand due to new product development (NPD). Relationships

Reports to: Team Leader Mechanical Interacts with: Production, Service, Commercial Department and external partners. Role and Responsibilities

The Test Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and demonstrating the quality of Quorum’s product offerings both new and existing. Working as part of NPD teams to design and develop product solutions and meeting project timescales. Liaising with project teams, during pre-design phases, to define product testing needs and documenting them in test plans. Technical document writing and presenting of test plans and reports. Testing of new products as defined by project needs. Periodic lifecycle testing of existing products as required and documenting of findings. Assist business functions such as service department in testing fault reports from customer sites. Achieve a high level of product knowledge, including both Quorum and competitor products as appropriate. Provide test data required for ensuring confidence in design quality of product portfolio. Influence relevant engineering team members to improve quality of design solution outputs. Design/Build of test equipment as necessary for product testing activities. Collaborate with internal specialists and authorised representative to gather required documentation, collate and arrange filling of CE|UKCA requirements. Conduct Engineering test investigations through research, testing and data analysis. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

Successful completion of investigations, on-time and to satisfaction of receiving customer. Concise, detailed, and accurate reporting of results, input into future products and ongoing demonstrated product improvements. Ability to meet customer expectations and to maintain Quorum’s established reputation for excellence. Ability to ensure that all established administrative routines and records are kept accurately and up to date. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum HNC/HND in engineering or related discipline. Required Experience and Skills

The successful candidate must have: Experience in a comparable test type role and a relevant field. Effective communication skillsets including ability to write clear and concise test documentation, presenting of findings to wider audience. Ability to discuss and translate experience into design changes, when appropriate. Understanding of CAD tools to primarily navigate systems and interpret design files. Test calculations and quality test report writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to cope with rapidly changing demands on time and prioritise jobs according to urgency. Excellent communication skills, the ability to challenge and question while maintaining positive relationships. Positive problem-solving mentality with willingness to challenge engineering team to find appropriate solutions. Ability to prioritise multiple tasks according to priority and work in a co-ordinated manner with sympathy for business needs. Preferred Experience and Skills

Experience in scientific instrumentation testing. Vacuum system understanding and testing. LN2 cooled system understanding and testing. MRP system experience (preferably SAP Business One). Conductive coating technology. Additional notes:

Although based on site at Quorum technologies this role may include minor travel both domestic and overseas: Valid driving licence beneficial and passport required. Attendance at trade shows means that ability to sit/stand for long periods is required. Assisting with packing/unpacking products will require bending, lifting, and carrying heavy equipment.
