Our Distribution Testing department focuses on testing the performance of packaging in distribution for a range of products to help reduce waste and create a more sustainable future. We provide and design bespoke tests for the packaging formations, generating scientific understanding and advice for optimum solutions for our clients. We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our Distribution Testing department who wants to develop their skills and progress within a successful and growing global business. Main responsibilities: Detailed application of test standards, generating test worksheets and accurately recording test results. Utilize sound knowledge and understanding of underlying scientific principles to deliver high-quality testing of packaging. Participate in training, develop further technical skills, and troubleshooting skills. Contribute to the technical development of other team members. Coordinate and plan collaboration from other team members where projects require additional input. Establish effective communication with clients, suppliers, and engineers on testing and equipment performances. Support project managers through all stages of the project, including the development of proposals and reporting results. Provide clarity and interpretation of results, process challenges, and queries for project managers. Review reports before they are issued to clients. Person specification: B Eng (or equivalent) in Physics/Materials or substantial relevant experience in a similar role. Minimum of 3 years testing experience preferred but not essential if a relevant degree is held. Desirable to have demonstrable skills in overcoming problems, displaying knowledge and understanding, determination, and stamina. Desirable to have knowledge of vibration, shock, temperature, and humidity testing, and their applicability to different products.
