The preferred location for this role is Christchurch, though other locations will be considered. A crucial part of the role will be the development and implementation of Stats NZ's Enterprise testing functionality. You will work with the Statistical Infrastructure team to deliver end to end automated testing for our social survey platform, which can in turn be reused for other survey areas. You will use your knowledge of testing solutions, and passion for testing to lead and our initiative to deliver functionality to the organisation. As a test lead working in our team, you'll contribute to: Creation of end-to-end automation tests. Writing and implementing test plans and cases to validate code. Leading implementation of the Enterprise Automated Test Framework. Championing best practice and use of enterprise testing tools and systems across Stats NZ's statistical landscape e.g. Azure DevOps, BDD, Python, GitLab. Developing, implementing and supporting continuous improvement of business process models, documentation, testing, deployment and Statistical Software Development Life Cycle procedures. This role would suit someone who can bring: Relevant and recent technical testing experience. A passion for coaching, training and mentoring. An ability to quickly learn and understand our corporate statistical processing platforms and infrastructure. An ability to quickly learn about Stats NZ and relevant business processes, surveys and data. A proven ability at building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with customers. An ability to resolve conceptually and technically challenging problems. Have familiarity with, or a commitment to learn and understand, Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Ao and Te Reo Māori.
