Lab Equipment Maintenance & Test Rig Engineer Westerham, TN16 37.5 hours, permanent Salary: GBP35-45k depending on experience Are you an electro-mechanical engineer with good hands-on workshop skills looking for a new challenging role? Do you have experience from a production engineering, manufacturing or possibly maintenance engineering environment? Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of a range of high-end modern showers and related bathroom fittings. Working in their technical development laboratory you will be responsible for maintaining all of the equipment and test rigs in the lab, keeping the test rigs running and calibrated, as well as making any new test rigs and setting up life tests (usually using PLCs). Main responsibilities: Maintenance of all equipment and test rigs in the laboratory including: Chillers and Boilers Variety of pumps Pneumatic valves and cylinders Datalogging equipment including software Flow meters, temperature sensors, pressure meters Will include basic plumbing and wiring Designing & producing test rigs including manual machining of parts. PLC programming (for life tests etc). Equipment calibration. Support the development of in-house tests to suit varying criteria. Assist with basic modifications/machining of prototypes in house. Skills & Experience : Relevant Engineering qualification with proven hands-on engineering skills. Practical electro-mechanical equipment production or maintenance experience. Practical workshop experience manual machining, turning, lathe, milling etc. Proven track record in product testing & test rig maintenance desirable. Knowledge of PLCs and software for use in product testing desirable. An affinity for engineering with a desire to understand how things work. Enjoys problem solving, able to fix things using own initiative. IT skills including Excel & Word. Basic plumbing, electrical safety & wiring skills desirable. Effective communication skills.
