The 1863 Club – Part Time Assistant Lead Coach

The 1863 Club are seeking to recruit a new assistant lead coach to join the team. The role is to help plan, lead and deliver coaching of our growing junior club across all squads covering land and water sessions both throughout the week and on weekends. Over the last few years, the club has developed into a progressive programme catering to an inclusive yet competitive ethos supporting and giving opportunities for boys between J14-J18 and girls from J17-J18. We are based in Chiswick, London. We are seeking the new coach to help develop juniors alongside cohesively working with our existing team under the direction of our Head of Rowing and Co-Captains. There is flexibility with exact hours depending on the candidate but this role is expected to work between 12-16 hours a week depending on the person. There is also scope to be involved in varying aspects of the club depending on the candidate. We encourage candidates who have experience working with junior age rowers or an experienced graduate that may be looking for their next steps into coaching, however this is a lead coach role which will also have responsibility for one or more squads, so prior experience would be desired. A British Rowing Level 2 coaching award and RYA Powerboat 2 are requisites for the role; we may support candidates without these qualifications depending on the person, so encourage an application if this is the case. The club offers competitive rates of pay. The club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all coaches and staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo our child protection screening appropriate to this post including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. Applicants must have the existing right to work in the UK. Salary:

Pay dependent on candidate Type:

12-16 hours/week Application Dates:

From Thursday 25th January 2024 to Monday 26th February 2024
