What is the job?
As Reception Manager, you will manage all aspects of the front office including guest registration, porter services, business centre, telephone services, concierge services, and guest reservations. You’ll create a warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home.

About the role
Your day to day
People
Manage day-to-day staffing needs, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve team member performance.
Educate and train team members in compliance with local laws and health & safety regulations.
Ensure your team are properly trained on systems, security, service and quality standards.
Recommend, initiate and manage any HR actions where needed.
Financial
Help prepare annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budget and control labour costs and expenses.
Monitor all financial functions in Front Office Department and preparation of daily financial reports.
Develop plans to increase occupancy and ADR through walk-ins and upselling at the front desk.
Promote hotel F&B offerings from reception.
Guest Experience
Ensure your front office team delivers great service, professional attention and personal recognition.
Ensure guests are greeted upon arrival and engage with guests.
Pro-actively seek guest feedback and respond appropriately to guest complaints.
Conduct routine inspections of the front office and public areas.
Responsible Business
Check billing instructions and guest credit for compliance with hotel credit policy.
Train team members on PMS procedures and maintain relationships with local emergency personnel.
Serve as Manager on duty, supporting junior team in all departments.
Accountability
Manage team of housekeepers and supervisors.
Hours of work will include mornings, evenings and weekends.
Act as Duty Manager when required.

What you will need
Required criteria
Minimum one-year front office supervisory / management experience within a hotel environment.
A clear understanding of speaking and understanding English.
Proven experience of leading and managing others.
Strong IT competency.
Desired criteria
Two years’ experience as a Reception Manager.
Experience in a branded hotel.
Hospitality/Tourism degree or diploma.
Experience of a hotel pre-opening.
