Spire Hartswood Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Theatre Healthcare Assistant to join the team on a full-time basis.

Duties and responsibilities:

Assist the multi-disciplinary operating team to provide exemplary care by offering a timely portering service, including escorting patients between wards, departments, and the theatre suite.

Transport equipment, medical records, meals, specimens, and linen.

Move furniture and assist with routine tasks related to patients’ health and well-being.

Contribute to personal development and assist in maintaining health, safety, and security.

Ensure actions help to maintain quality and support equality, diversity, and rights.

Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand responsibilities in the prevention and control of HCAI.

Who we're looking for:

Experience of acting under instruction and working as part of a team.

General portering abilities and moving and handling competence.

Customer-facing experience and English language proficiency to IELTS 7.0.

Experience of moving and handling patients in the perioperative area and attaching additional equipment to operating tables and trolleys.

Safe use of role-specific perioperative equipment.

Experience of working as a porter or in another caring role based in a clinical environment.
