We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible Theatre Practitioners to work in Ormskirk and Southport Hospitals. If you are keen to add to your existing theatre knowledge and are committed to developing and enhancing the quality of care provided in the Operating Theatre environment, then this is the opportunity for you. The department provides a 24-hour emergency cover, therefore, there will be shift work, weekends, and on call commitment will be required. Positions available in Scrub, Anaesthetics or Recovery across Southport and Ormskirk Theatres. Main duties of the job

As part of our commitment to student ODP's and Nurses, the post holder will be expected to participate in the orientation, supervision and training of junior staff and students. A mentorship qualification is desirable. This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for Adults and Children's disclosure). Job responsibilities

Skills & Abilities

Excellent time management, record management and organisational skills Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role Knowledge of current professional & clinical issues Knowledge of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults procedures Substantial post registration experience within an acute hospital setting Qualifications

Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner with current NMC or HCPC Registration Relevant diploma or degree, or working towards. Teaching and assessing/mentoring qualification Related ENB/Theatre courses Other

Motivated individual, commitment to personal & professional development Flexible and adaptable approach Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
