Job summary We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible Theatre Practitioners to work in Ormskirk and Southport Hospitals. If you are keen to add to your existing theatre knowledge and are committed to developing and enhancing the quality of care provided in the Operating Theatre environment, then this is the opportunity for you. The department provides a 24-hour emergency cover, therefore, there will be shift work, weekends, and on call commitment will be required. Positions available in Scrub, Anaesthetics or Recovery across Southport and Ormskirk Theatres. Main duties of the job Personal and professional growth is actively encouraged, and a wide range of career development opportunities are available including professional development support and access to degree modules. In return we will offer you the opportunity to broaden your existing knowledge of perioperative practice and develop your management skills in a supportive and friendly environment. As part of our commitment to student ODP's and Nurses, the post holder will be expected to participate in the orientation, supervision and training of junior staff and students. A mentorship qualification is desirable. This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for Adults and Children's disclosure). Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation, freeing up space for more unwell patients. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre. Specialist Regional Services We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
