An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Practitioner – RGN/ODP to work in an amazing surgery based in the Leeds, West Yorkshire area. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading laser eye surgery specialists. This is one of the UK and Ireland’s number one providers of laser eye surgery and private lens surgery. To be considered for this role, you must be qualified as a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin or qualified as an ODP with HCPC registration. As a Theatre Practitioner, your key duties include: Supporting the surgery manager and assisting with infection control audits. Ensuring that all patients proceeding to surgery have had the opportunity to understand the potential risks and benefits of treatment. Playing a leading role in ensuring all Patient Journeys are completed with the utmost care, empathy, and service that exceeds all Patient expectations. Working within the team to ensure that ‘file preparation’ prior to the treatment day is carried out to minimize potential complications and cancellations by recognizing patient suitability. Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure outstanding issues are addressed prior to surgery. Discharging patients from surgery with the appropriate prescribed medication and advice, including emergency contact numbers and follow-up care arrangements. The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Caring manner, with patient attentiveness and professionalism paramount in all interactions. Ability to absorb and convey highly technical information. Adaptable with a flexible approach to work. Excellent time management skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks. Demonstrate confidentiality, integrity, and discretion. A passion or interest in optical healthcare/refractive surgery. The successful Theatre Practitioner will receive an excellent salary of £30,000 – £40,000 per annum.
