The Loakes Theatres department at Wycombe Hospital is proud of the safe and effective care which we deliver. We are now looking for Band 5 theatre nurses, or Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), who wish to gain, or build on, experience in this dynamic and interesting role. As the elective surgery site for the Trust, our department mainly supports operations across a range of Orthopaedics and Urology specialities. The theatre team also covers for other specialities such as ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Plastic surgery and Robotic surgery.

Main duties of the job We are happy to consider applications from registered nurses or ODPs with previous theatre experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate an appreciation for the importance of care in surgery and provide evidence that they share our values,

Person Specification Education and qualifications Essential

Registered nurse (Adult) or ODP Relevant post registration experience

Desirable

Teaching and Assessment recognised qualification

Skills and Knowledge Essential

Communication with other staff at all levels Communication with patients Evidence of excellent inter-personal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Time management Ability to meet deadlines Planning and organisation skills

IT skills

Special Circumstances Essential

Ability to cope with the theatre environment Ability to take part in the on call rota

Desirable

The post holder may be required to work across all sites and will be required to travel between the sites in a timely manner

Experience Essential

Relevant scrub experience

Desirable

Scrub experience in orthopaedics and/or urology
