An exciting opportunity has arisen for theatre scrub practitioners role in major trauma and elective orthopaedic theatres involving two sites that is main theatres and Cambridge movement surgical hub. The post holder will maintain clinical knowledge and skills in a highly supportive senior team structure working across the theatre environment. Orthopaedic theatres has 7 operating theatres and carries a wide range of major trauma and elective orthopaedic procedures. We are also a tertiary referral centre and specialised unit for many orthopaedic surgical procedures for east of England. In Autumn 2023 the department expanded its elective orthopaedic and spine surgeries to the new site Cambridge Movement Surgical Hub. Main duties of the job

We are looking for individuals who will seize this challenge and develop the staff and the service to reflect the changing nature of surgery. This is an opportunity to showcase your knowledge, skills, experience and teamwork required for this inspiring role. Essential qualifications and/or experience: RGN/ ODP qualification, have previous experience or willing to learn trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery. Qualifications

RN/ODP Evidence of continued professional development NMC/HCPC active registration Relevant Teaching and assessing qualification/ Mentorship qualification Formal anaesthetic training qualification Trainings on Infection control practices/risk trainings Experience

Clinically current in operation theatre practice Relevant operation theatre teaching and management experience required for Band 5 practitioner Transferrable previous theatre scrub experience to Trauma and Elective orthopaedic theatres Evidence of supervision/mentoring of learners and junior staff Experience of other speciality operations in a clinical area Trauma/elective orthopaedic Theatres previous experience Knowledge

Good communication skills both written and verbal, capable of working as an integral member of a team Ability to prioritise workload NMC/HCPC code of conduct guidelines Knowledge of implant surgery/knowledge of orthopaedic joint replacement implants and trauma implants Awareness of WHO Surgical Safety checklist Surgical Count Policy/procedures Skills
