Full time position – permanent (includes some evening and weekend work and rota’d on-call duties) We are currently recruiting for the role of Therapeutic Deputy Home Manager for our home Bluebells, which can take up to 4 children. Bluebells is our second home and opened in 2012. The home is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We are looking for a committed, creative, and dynamic individual who is interested in working therapeutically and developing their career as a Manager in therapeutic residential childcare. Amicus is a children’s therapeutic community accredited by The Royal College of Psychiatrists, providing therapeutic residential care and education to vulnerable and traumatised children aged 4 to 16 years old (aged 4 - 11 years old on admission). We provide a highly supervised, supportive, and planned environment that integrates therapeutic residential care and education, which is underpinned by our psychoanalytic and group relations model and theory base, helping children to recover from their trauma and go on to have secure attachments and positive outcomes. The task of the Therapeutic Deputy Home Manager is to assist the Therapeutic Home Manager in the running of the home and to provide high-quality leadership and management, including on-call support. You will model and lead by example to ensure that there is a high standard of therapeutic practice and nurture to the children and that good parental care is modeled by the team. You will be part of leading and managing a staff team, supporting and developing them in their therapeutic practice and their understanding and knowledge in the work with the children. You will be committed to improving the mental and emotional health of children and assist them in beginning to work through and recover from their trauma and difficulties in a safe therapeutic environment. Supporting children to manage their feelings and have healthier relationships, as well as developing their trust and self-esteem. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare is desirable or alternatively, a willingness to complete this. Full UK driving license is essential.
