Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9-5pm. Olive Branch Fostering has an exciting opportunity for a Supervising Social Worker to join the team in the Rawtenstall area. Who are we? BSN Social Care is the parent company of Olive Branch Fostering. Aa an independent fostering agency, Olive Branch Fostering provide foster placements to children and young people across England. Our objective is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children placed in our care and one in which they can develop and reach their full potential. The Role We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent and skilled Therapeutic Supervising Social Worker to join our Therapeutic Lead Care Service at Olive Branch Fostering As a Therapeutic Supervising Social Worker you will hold a manageable caseload allowing you to provide intensive therapeutic support to our foster carers as required. You will support our foster carers through monthly support and supervision visits undertaking the necessary placement management, planning and intervention to ensure that children’s care and development needs are met, as identified within the care plan.
In this role you will contribute to therapeutic proposal reports where a child or young person has been assessed as needing a therapeutic placement, you will attend weekly therapeutic update meetings for the child/young person and contribute to the therapeutic plan. You will undertake direct work as necessary, coordinating the activities of CYPEO and others, to further the outcomes for children and young people in placement.
What we’re looking for: Dip SW/CQSW/Social Work Degree and current SWE registration Hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS Experience of working to targets and performance indicators Have experience in children’s services and foster care delivery Willing to participate in an out of hours telephone support system and undertake occasional out of hours/weekend work by attending events, meetings and training Share a commitment to Equal Opportunities in all work practices and to improving the lives of Looked After Children. An understanding of trauma informed models & Therapeutic parenting training is desirable Experience of working in a professional capacity with children with complex needs / high risk behaviours /behaviours that challenge is desirable Childrens Mental health practitioner experience is desirable Why work for us?
