Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Lead, co-ordinate and support the development and assessment of project T&I engineering, including T&I input to foundation designs and consenting activities. Lead, co-ordinate and support the development of individual project’s Transport & Installation strategy, including but not limited to design, planning & cost definition. Prepare the technical scope of work documents for Transport & Installation activities and provision of support to other engineering disciplines as deemed necessary. Responsibility for the evaluation of technical proposals for port facilities, offshore contractors, and the associated specialist equipment and installation methodologies. Lead the development of technical support for robust offshore installation campaign planning, including the definition of site environmental conditions, operation/activity durations & the associated operable limits, management/co-ordination of relevant T&I engineering assessments, and provision/commissioning of logistics modelling exercises. Responsible for highlighting of the key T&I project risks and associated design issues, communicating effectively to project management teams on these matters, and providing support to risk mitigation implementation and monitoring. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams/packages to deliver and optimize the Transport & Installation strategic vision e.g. consenting, design, logistics, construction, supply chain, procurement, innovation etc. Participation in the technical Tender Evaluation and Supplier Selection processes in line with project and shareholder procurement requirements. Provision of the necessary support to the development of Project Design envelopes. Provision of the necessary support to Procurement, Commercial, Insurance and Legal teams as required. Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in transport and installation engineering for offshore wind projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential Applicant will have a minimum of seven years’ professional experience, 3 of which have been in a Transport and Installation related function/role. Applicant will have a formal qualification in Engineering, or a related field with demonstrable experience in Transport and Installation engineering, ideally within the offshore wind, Oil & Gas, or maritime sectors. Transferable experience from other industries may be considered for this role if deemed applicable. Applicant will have a thorough understanding of offshore windfarm construction and logistics activities. A pro-active attitude with proven experience of interfacing and collaborating effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, in a solution focused manner, to support decision making. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Able to travel as required with a valid driving license and passport.
