The main purpose of this role will be: To ensure all TIG Welding projects are completed in conformance with specifications and set time scales. Fabrication and welding of components and sub–assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales. Complete projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations. Quality Control evaluations. Set up and running of leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment (helium leak detectors) on all chamber vessels. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Knowledge or experience of welding and fabrication processes would be beneficial. Qualified to BTech/HNC/HND level in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline. TIG Welding (Ideally working with stainless steel & Mu metal). Established skillset in metal fabrication and welding including the use of precision measuring equipment. Able to read specified drawings. Comfortable working to deadlines set by lead technician. Basic knowledge of turning would be an advantage. Follow all health and safety regulations and seek to maintain and improve these standards.
