The Morpeth Tourist Information Centre is located within the craft centre of Morpeth Chantry. The Chantry and Tourist Information centre is responsible for delivering face-to-face services, which include selling craft centre goods and providing advice and guidance to visitors of Northumberland. Customer service is of utmost importance in this role, as is a wide range of administrative duties.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Chantry and Tourist Centre. This person will provide a first-class, customer-focused service to the residents of Northumberland and lead a team of Tourist Centre Assistants.
Duties will include:
Leading a team of Tourism Information Assistants in dealing with day-to-day customer contacts in a friendly and efficient manner, presenting a positive image of the service. Answering telephone calls, assisting visitors, taking messages, and responding to enquiries on a wide range of tourist information issues in a helpful and efficient manner. Actively leading the promotion and sale of information, literature, gifts, and souvenirs; maintaining, replenishing, and merchandising all stock and information.
Essential requirements:
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience, including numeracy and literacy. Management skills. Experience working with the public in a front-facing role. Detail-oriented with the ability to gather and report on statistical data.
