We have a Job Vacancy for a Tow Bar Fitter / Trailer Technician at our premises in Chorley, Lancashire.
Hours:
9 – 5, Monday – Friday, occasional Saturdays 9.00 – 12.30 Experience:
Working within the trailer industry, Motor trade, Agricultural Engineering Sector or Heavy / Light Haulage maintenance. Duties:
Tow Bar fitting, involving the safe removal and replacement of the rear bumper and associated trim, fitting the tow bar and wiring loom, and re-coding the vehicle to accept the wiring loom. Repair, maintain and service all types / brands of trailer up to 3500 kg, including the braking, suspension and wheel bearing systems, wiring / lighting, body work, and replacing the floor when needed. Some welding work is required in the repair / maintenance of a trailer chassis. Essential Skills:
Good all-round mechanical and electrical knowledge, safe and effective use of a wide selection of hand tools and power tools, basic welding and fabrication, working safely with a jack and axle stands. Full Driving Licence is also required. Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of the towing and trailer industry, steel fabricating, automotive electrical engineering background. Personal and Social Skills:
Ability to work as part of a small team and on their own initiative. Good people skills, as you may need to interact with customers and suppliers. Conclusion:
