An exciting opportunity has arisen for an

Energy Trading Analyst

to join a dynamic team within the Energy Markets division for the UK & Ireland. This is an opportunity for a technical and driven individual passionate about supporting the energy transition through digitisation, decentralisation, and decarbonisation. The role will involve developing and implementing trading strategies to optimise the value of customer assets and the overall portfolio, providing data-driven insights and developing models for flexibility and distributed energy assets. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement trading strategies to maximise value for individual customer assets and the wider portfolio.

Design, code, and maintain models and processes for flexibility and distributed energy asset management.

Perform in-depth analysis of UK power markets (wholesale, ancillary, and capacity).

Identify, implement, and enhance market-leading best practices, tools, and systems.

Assist in the development of the customer value proposition and global platforms.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal implementation of strategies.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in energy trading or a closely related role within the UK market.

Experience with energy trading software.

Strong knowledge of UK power markets (wholesale, ancillary, and capacity).

Proven programming experience (e.g., Python).

Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with common software tools.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Degree in a numerical-based subject or equivalent.

Experience with energy market analysis and forecasting platforms.

Nice to Have

Experience with optimising energy storage and other distributed energy assets.

Familiarity with automation and API integration.

Experience in developing energy market models and tools for forecasting and scenario development.
