An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners in Respiratory Medicine. We are looking to recruit a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) within our Respiratory Medicine service. You will need to have experience of working in acute Respiratory Medicine and evidence of sound clinical leadership skills. Job responsibilities

The ACPs are pivotal in the triage, assessment, ordering and interpretation of appropriate tests and investigations, and development of treatment plans, including non-medical prescribing, of acutely unwell Respiratory patients. The Respiratory ACP is a key leadership role within the Respiratory medicine team, working alongside both medical and ward based teams in a busy and dynamic environment. The role is exciting and varied including working as a part of the respiratory medicine team assessing and treating patients on the wards, in pleural clinics and outpatient clinics with a view to reducing length of stay, admission avoidance and promoting safe discharge through ACP led clinics. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse or Allied Health Professional with a passion for Respiratory Medicine. Experience of independent clinical assessment, practice and decision making is advantageous. Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners will be expected to commence an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner) and will be supported with consultant clinical supervision to meet the capabilities in practice required for this role. Currently, the team cover core hours Monday-Friday 8am-6pm. As a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you are expected to work in conjunction with the 4 pillars of advanced Practice (Multi-Professional framework for advanced Clinical practice in England, Health Education England, 2017): Expert clinical practice Leadership and management, in order to improve and transform services Research application of existing research and contributing to new research Education and Development of self and others You will work as an independent Practitioner facilitated through learning and assessment methods via clinical supervision. This role involves undertaking capability-based patient assessment and examination in order to formulate a management plan for patients admitted to UHS for diagnosis and/or treatments.
