Through a two-year training programme as Trainee Asset Inspector at Last Mile, you’ll gain hands-on experience across all utility connections and inspections in Last Mile’s Asset Adoption process, covering the full asset lifecycle from design to operations. Rotating through various placements, you’ll build expertise and a strong network across the business. We’ll provide the training and support you need to develop the skills to succeed and progress as a future Asset Inspector, contributing to industry-leading solutions. Ensure accurate updates are made to business systems with the results. Provide Support and Guidance: Advise Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) on health, safety, environmental, and quality matters, while offering onsite support for their inquiries and best practice recommendations. Ensure Compliance and Safety: Conduct post-adoption regulatory inspections in line with industry standards, ensuring safe working practices are consistently maintained and liaising with upstream Distribution Network Operators as required. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Manage correspondence with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and meet onsite requirements. Deliver monthly reports detailing completed audits, issues identified, and emerging trends. We’re looking for candidates who: Have a construction or engineering background (e.g., gas/water main layer, electrician, cable jointer, multi-utility operative) – training and qualifications will be provided. Hold a full driving licence. Are self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative. Possess strong communication skills. Are willing to travel and work away when required.
