Trainee Commercial Co-ordinator

to work within their Commercial department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and progressive geotechnical contractor based in

Hamilton, Scotland . This is a varied role, working both in the office and out on site. The main responsibility will be to assist in identifying and making claims, measuring and invoicing completed work and providing quotations for variations to existing contracts. Key tasks include: Attending site visits, representing the Company at organised pre-Tender site walkovers, with the view of determining suitable plant capabilities, site logistics, providing feedback and identifying potential problems and contributing to solutions. Working with members of the Commercial Department and contributing to identifying and making Claims (variations, EWN and CE, etc.). Working with members of the Commercial Department and contributing to measurement and invoicing of completed work. Working with members of the Commercial Department and contributing to contract negotiation, assisting with identifying

within contracts / sub-contracts / call-off contracts. Assisting the Commercial Department in liaising with other department members with the view of ensuring works are undertaken as contractually agreed and specified. About you: We are ideally seeking a candidate who has some or all of the following knowledge: Basic principles of Conditions of Contract, UK Specification for Ground Investigation (2nd & 3rd ED), Manual of Contract documents for highways works. Plant capabilities. Understanding of geology and ground conditions. Excellent inter-personal and negotiating skills. Ability to manage your own time effectively and make decisions.
