Trainee Flood Modeller

to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for experienced apprentice civil engineers, early career engineers, or recent graduates with a degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related scientific discipline. If you have strong numerical, analytical, and spatial analysis skills and are eager to develop your expertise in flood risk management, we’d love to hear from you. Role Overview: As a Trainee Flood Modeller at McCloy Consulting, you will gain valuable experience in a range of projects, including: Surface Water and Urban Drainage Design Natural Flood Management & River Restoration You will work closely with our team of experienced engineers, hydrologists, and environmental scientists, learning how to develop flood models and contribute to the delivery of sustainable water management solutions. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development of hydraulic and hydrological models for flood risk assessments. Support the design and delivery of surface water and drainage projects. Learn to interpret data and provide technical solutions for flood management. Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure the successful completion of projects. Assist in preparing reports and documentation for both internal use and client deliverables. Qualifications & Skills: An apprenticeship or degree in

Civil Engineering ,

Environmental Engineering , or

a related scientific field . Strong numerical and analytical skills. Interest in spatial analysis techniques and an interest in

GIS . Interest in learning

hydraulic and hydrological modelling software

(e.g., TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM). Excellent communication skills and a collaborative work approach. Willingness to attend the Belfast office regularly. Why Join Us?
