Job Description: Working within the engineering team, to support the operational and commercial sides of the business, the Trainee Scaffold Designer is expected to assist with scaffold and temporary works design packages from tender stage through to the final construction issue. Playing a supporting role driving projects forward to a successful outcome. The ideal candidate would have some experience in the construction industry, have a keen eye for detail and show a strong desire to learn and grow into the role. Training and development will be fully supported by the business. Key Responsibilities: Assisting with the production of temporary works designs of varying complexity from concept through to completion. Assisting with scaffold design calculations and design risk assessments. Keeping up to date with latest industry guidance, British Standards & Eurocodes to ensure compliance of all designed solutions. Assisting with site surveys in order to gather the necessary information to safely and effectively carry out design duties. Reading and interpreting design briefs and structural drawings. Attending design meetings with other industry professionals in order to progress design projects. Effective time management to ensure deadlines are met. Communicate with clients and colleagues at all levels. Skills and Experience: Interest and basic understanding of the construction industry, preferably temporary works. Basic knowledge of traditional tube and fitting scaffold and Layher system scaffold. Basic working knowledge of Autodesk software AutoCAD, preferably within the construction industry. Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail. Experience of reading and interpreting structural drawings, client briefs and technical data. Qualifications: Degree / HNC / HND qualified in a relevant engineering discipline. Commitment to Continued Professional Development. Details of Package: Working Hours;
