Trainee Sprinkler Service Engineer Location:
Manchester (Field Based) Job Purpose: To assist in the servicing and maintenance of commercial and residential sprinkler systems while gaining hands-on experience and industry knowledge under the supervision of qualified engineers. Key Accountabilities: Assist in carrying out servicing as per the LPCB sprinkler rules and learn to identify any faults.
Support with small remedial works under supervision.
Shadow experienced engineers on emergency call-outs (both in and out of hours).
Work as part of a team and develop the ability to work independently as skills progress.
Maintain a professional attitude and deliver excellent customer service.
Job Context / Key Challenges: Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional out-of-hours support.
Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different working environments.
Role Dimensions: Work closely with the Service Manager and experienced service engineers to develop skills and knowledge.
Person Profile (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience): Keen interest in pursuing a career in sprinkler system maintenance.
Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge (preferred but not essential).
Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Basic IT skills for submitting electronic worksheets.
