Trainee Technical Packaging Designer . This entry-level role offers the opportunity to learn and contribute to the development, design, and optimisation of packaging solutions for a variety of products. Under the guidance of experienced designers, the trainee will gain hands-on experience in technical packaging design, including materials selection, structural design, and sustainability considerations. Key Responsibilities Assist in Packaging Design: Support the creation of innovative and functional packaging designs that align with client specifications and brand guidelines. Technical Drawings & Prototypes: Learn to develop technical drawings and create prototypes using CAD software and other tools. Materials Research: Collaborate with the team to select appropriate packaging materials, considering durability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Testing & Quality Assurance: Assist in testing packaging designs for functionality, strength, and compliance with industry standards. Project Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, and supply chain, to ensure packaging meets operational requirements. Sustainability Focus: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving environmental impact, such as reducing material waste or transitioning to eco-friendly alternatives. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of design iterations, specifications, and test results. Qualifications A degree or diploma in

Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering , or a related field (or relevant work experience) - desirable Basic understanding of design software (e.g.,

AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite ). Interest in packaging materials, structures, and production processes. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills (non-essential) Familiarity with sustainability principles in packaging design. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as die-cutting or folding. Experience with 3D modelling or rendering software.
