Description of the Business Line or Department The Equities & Derivatives department at Societe Generale aims to provide a full set of services to Institutional and Corporate clients that will support their investment and risk management targets. Summary of the key purposes of the role The Trainee position is responsible for asset optimization, upgrading book IT, and project follow-up. Summary of responsibilities The Trainee will be responsible for monitoring and developing pricing and auto hedging tools, performing quantitative research and tool development to help trading desks automate their business, back-testing using both production software and alternative tools including VBA and Python, working closely with Sales to analyse the impact of liquidity providers and clients, and developing and improving production software including indicators. Profile required The ideal candidate for this Trainee position should be educated to Master’s degree-level in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or similar. Excellent level of written and spoken English. Proficiency in MS Office suite, VBA and Python. Strong analytical skills and a mathematical mindset. Ability to develop relationships based on trust and professionalism. Ability to work well within a diverse team. Ability to take initiative and work autonomously where required. Excellent communication skills. A good understanding of and ability to work within the Group’s values: Team Spirit, Innovation, Responsibility and Commitment.
