Our client is seeking a

Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor

to work in their Body Shop. You will lead customers through the process of getting their vehicle repaired after an accident and act as the liaison between the customer, insurance company, and parts vendors to ensure the repair process goes smoothly and is completed correctly.

The role will involve: Inspection of vehicles for damages and evaluating using visual inspection, mechanical testing devices, road tests, and information provided by the customer. Evaluating necessity and cost of repairs. Collecting insurance estimates after reviewing damage. Meeting with customers to discuss damages, repair process, timeline, and costs. Creating accurate estimates that detail repair and labour costs. Placing work orders detailing part replacements and repairs and entering into the work management system. Maintaining communication with customers and being available to answer questions throughout the repair process. Keeping record of repair details and completing necessary paperwork. Effectively managing multiple repairs simultaneously. Implementing an effective quality check process by inspecting repaired vehicles and ensuring the repair is up to standard. Completing final paperwork and payment with customers. Providing exceptional customer service at all times and creating ongoing relationships with customers.

Communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will have the ability to multitask as well as excellent time management skills.

This is a trainee role and you will ideally have 1 year of experience working within a body shop environment and a love of cars. You will also be computer literate.
