This is a key role in the organisation, you'll report to the Financial Controller and be a significant figurehead in the finance leadership team. You will take accountability for managing customer and supplier relationships, ensuring an excellent stakeholder experience. The Transactional Services Lead is also responsible for ensuring relevant reporting is undertaken to provide an appropriate level of business insight and decision-making, as well as ensuring that business projects have an appropriate level of support as required. This role requires a strong drive towards continuous improvement and team development.
About the role:
You will oversee and lead the AP and AR functions of the organisation of approx 40 team members. The department is a large and fast-paced, busy environment with AP payment runs operating every day, a monthly payment run of approx £1bn and typical monthly invoices in the region of 250,000. Own and lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Master Data processes and transactions. Manage the month end process for transactional services ensuring accuracy and timely, meaningful financial reporting information is provided. Set up and embed the new Master Data Function. Assess, design and implement controls over AP, AR and Data Management processes. Work closely with the treasury function to manage working capital and cashflow. Manage stakeholder financial relationships. Ensure appropriate financial decision support is provided to the Financial Controller and other senior management where required. Provide input to all relevant projects ensuring core processes are considered and suitable solutions developed. Drive a culture of continuous improvement across transactional services.
About you:
You will have extensive people management experience in a comparable sized team and organisation, particularly transactional services oversight. Alongside this, you will have sound experience of leading and managing teams within complex structured organisations, managing large volumes of complex data and maintaining the integrity of complex data interfaces as well as managing the production of cash flow projections. The ideal candidate would have sound continuous improvement demonstrable experience as well as strong leadership and motivational skills evidenced by strong specialist financial management and strategy experience, able to communicate frequently and effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation as well as key senior external stakeholders.
