Transport First Line Manager

to join us on the night shift at our Transport Networks site in Harlow. You’ll ensure effective co-ordination of all transport related activities, by controlling the workflow between warehouse and transport operations, ensuring adherence to the transport plan. This is a full-time, permanent position, working on a ‘4 on 4 off’ shift pattern. The hours of work are 20:00 – 08:00. Pay, benefits and more: You’ll be paid a salary of up to

£35,692

per annum, which includes a night shift premium. What you’ll do on a typical day: Manage and coordinate the work activities within your team to execute the most efficient operation on behalf of our customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and procedural conformance. Review labour requirements with the operations manager, planning against volumes and activities to produce labour requirements and work schedules to include contingency plans and overtime requirements. Build and maintain your team members in line with our people plan, identifying talent and training requirements or other opportunities for development. Responsible for managing change positively and effectively by pro-actively managing operational planning and changing customer requirements. What you need to succeed at GXO: Demonstrable experience within a similar role, experience supervising a team and an operational understanding of a fast-paced transport environment. Strong leadership skills with excellent communication skills, to champion a can-do attitude. Experience of managing conflicting priorities, along with planning and organising skills.
