Job Title: Transport Liaison Coordinator Function: Planning, Logistics and Warehousing Location: Milton Keynes Reporting to: Transport Planning Team Lead Direct Reports: None Job Grade: P1 Standard Hours (inc shift pattern): 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday Fixed Term Contract for 1 year Role Summary Reporting to the Transport Planning Team Lead, you will work closely with internal BMI UK&I departments and the transport providers to support the company’s commitments in providing a quality service to its customers. Being the key liaison between the internal Customer Services Department and the transport service provider you will be the first point of contact for daily query resolution for the transportation of flat roofing products to customers across the UK, Ireland and Europe. You will be responsible for sending customer orders to the relevant transport providers in line with the agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and monitoring, analysing performance trends and costs, identifying improvements on the basis of quality, cost and service to senior management. As the Transport Liaison Coordinator, your key responsibilities will be: First point of contact for service providers and internal departments for all matters relating to the transportation of products outbound from the Icopal site in Manchester to end customers. Ownership of all activities relating to planning and issue resolution. Liaising with suppliers and Customer Services for daily query resolution in order to provide best-in-class service. Maintaining a daily problem log for trending purposes. Proactively informing Customer Service departments, service providers, and escalation to senior management where appropriate. Ensuring placed orders are presented to service providers in line with service level agreements. Protecting the company’s position by ensuring service providers deliver against agreed SLAs. Maintaining accurate pre-shipment and post-shipment administration including (but not limited to): ETA tracking POD retrieval processing damage and loss claims evaluate and respond to additional/special service requests Following up all discrepancies with suppliers and Customer Services, understanding root causes and identifying improvement opportunities. Monitoring and analysing delivery performance of service providers and providing regular updates to management through weekly and monthly KPIs. Challenging poor performance where necessary. Proactively identifying areas of concern in the areas of service, quality and cost and working with the necessary partners to resolve such concerns. Identifying areas for continuous improvement from a service, quality and cost perspective and follow through to completion. Supporting Supply Chain project activity and delivering assigned workstreams to agreed timelines. Supporting BMI UK&I Transport and Warehouse Manager where necessary. Ownership of all improvement initiatives and following these through to completion. Your key skills and experience will include: Excellent stakeholder management experience Strong customer service skills Strong verbal communication skills Ability to problem solve Ability to multitask and prioritise Good analysis skills and ability to spot trends and provide recommendations Excellent administrative skills Transport planning experience (desirable) Experience of managing third-party suppliers (desirable) Experience using G-suite, SAP and Excel (desirable) If you do not have all key skills but still feel like you would be a good fit, please still apply and we will consider your application based on merit and experience.
