Ready for a change? Looking for a role that you can develop into? Are you a hands-on Transport Operations Manager ready for your big break? We are looking for someone like you. We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Operations Manager to be based at our site in Hanley for our contract with Fuchs. You’ll be responsible for a long-standing contract, managing a team of 20, at the customer premises. You’ll oversee the safe, compliant and accurate delivery of Fuchs products, across Monday to Friday. Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £43,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks. What you’ll do on a typical day: Oversee the traffic office and supervisory team. Responsible for first-line driver management, including conducting driver appraisals, identifying training needs, and improving staff skills. Manage the allocation of work, lost mileage, network issues, and punctuality. Ensure compliance with policies, standard operating procedures, and all relevant legislation. Support the General Manager in delivering agreed plans and budgets, maintaining established levels of service and quality. Adhere to the Operator’s Licence undertakings. Conduct daily KPI checks including random drug and alcohol testing, driving licence checks, gate checks, service monitoring, and depot punctuality. What you need to succeed at XPO: It’s important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment – no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet. Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a transport environment.
