We are looking for a Transport Planner to join our busy and growing organisation. The Transport Planner will provide first class logistics service ensuring that the logistics partners execute collection and delivery schedules via the most cost-effective means, in line with the business objectives, customer service levels and current legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and schedule transportation routes to ensure efficient delivery of goods, considering factors such as delivery schedules, load capacities and delivery order.

Optimise route planning to minimise fuel consumption, reduce transit times, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Monitor and track vehicles to ensure timely deliveries, and proactively address any potential delays or disruptions.

Coordinate with transport providers and customers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

Maintain accurate records of transportation activities.

Assist with the management of despatch paperwork for outbound loads, completing transactions on SAP where required.

Ensure any alteration to the shipping plan that leads to a delay to the customer requirement is effectively communicated back to the internal contacts within the business.

Assist the Dispatch Supervisor with invoices from suppliers ensuring they are checked diligently before being submitted to the Logistics Manager for authorisation.

Keep an orderly and tidy work environment.

Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

Proven experience (2 years minimum) in transport planning or logistics coordination.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PC literate (Microsoft Office).

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable:

SAP experience.

Experience in using route planning & optimisation software.
