Our client is a family run plant hire business who is looking for a Transport Planner who will thrive in a busy environment.
You will be responsible for the delivery of transport routes across multiple depots for a number of drivers and vehicles, ensuring the drivers, vehicles and routes operate safely.
Your Responsibilities:
Plan routes efficiently and effectively. Deliver the Operational Performance. Ensure on-time delivery. Maximize vehicle productivity (jobs per vehicle). Briefing & De-Briefing drivers. Actively work to reduce missed timeslots & late deliveries. Reduce the number of accidents through demonstrative action. Resolve any transport issues arising from customers & drivers. About You:
To succeed as a Transport Planner you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours: Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network. Excellent organization skills and the ability to stay calm. Experience in transport planning in a similar or transferable environment such as a transport office managing multiple locations, drivers, and vehicles with responsibility for routing and route optimization, transport compliance, and O licence regulations. Someone who has or is working towards Transport Manager CPC would be ideal. IT skills; a good level of technical proficiency is preferred.
