Are you an experienced Planner or Coordinator within a Logistics / Transport function? We are working with a highly reputable, established manufacturer of tooling who are experiencing strong growth. This newly created position offers stacks of variety and would suit someone who enjoys working within a fast-paced Coordinator position and building relationships with Drivers.
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for organising and improving allocated transport routes for a team of 5 Drivers. We need someone who can work independently and manage the processes on their own. You will have responsibility for managing the vehicle maintenance schedule e.g booking MOTs / routine maintenance. Organising holiday cover for Drivers will also fall under this position. As this is a small team, we need someone who is flexible in nature and doesn’t mind being hands on / supporting with the odd delivery when required should all the Drivers be allocated. You will need a valid Drivers Licence for this position, but all vehicles are LGVs so we don’t need a HGV Licence.
Package & Hours:
£32,000 to £35,000 per annum as a guide. 22 days holiday + bank holidays. 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm finish on a Friday. This Transport Planner job will suit: An enthusiastic individual who is looking for a variety within a Logistics Coordinator / Transport Planner capacity. Someone with good communication skills and is able to build a relationship with the wider driving team. A proactive attitude and flexible approach to support wider needs within the business. Problem solving skills and an eye for spotting opportunities to make improvements. Comfortable with wider admin relating to vehicles. The Transport Planner job’s working environment, opportunities and rewards: Highly reputable business with excellent staff length of tenure throughout the business. Significant levels of investment have been made into new manufacturing machinery and site refurbishment. A very clean, modern, professional environment – including a recreational area with pool table for the team! The Transport Planner job will involve: Monitors and adapt the 25 weekly fixed, milk round van runs to make them more efficient. These are structured weekly calls, this is not a high volume multidrop role. Identify and manage non-collections. Manage driver working hours, holidays and cover. Provide ad hoc driver cover.
