DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrable understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
Responsible for driver and fleet legal compliance in accordance with DHL Asset Management Centre of Excellence standards
Accountable for the delivery of all aspects of the shift operation ensuring the delivery of efficient & customer-focused service
Ensuring all crews (including agency) are appropriately inducted, trained and familiarised with both operations and equipment and accurate records kept
Ensure accident/investigation packs are completed to a high standard in a timely manner in readiness for sign off at the next level
Deputising for the Transport Manager as required
To schedule, prepare and conduct quarterly 1-2-1's with all direct reports in line with OMS guidelines
Manage disciplinary and grievance in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures, as well as conducting 1-2-1's within guidelines
Ensuring all drivers are aware of and comply with Accident and breakdown management via DHL standard operating procedures Golden Hour & Much More!
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
Previous and demonstrable experience as an Operations Manager, within a Transport environment
Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management
Understanding and practical knowledge of logistics software packages.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage, organise and train direct reports
A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received
