Full Job Description: Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role will be responsible for managing drivers and vehicles in line with company policies and procedures. The Transport Supervisor will also assist the Operations Manager in their duties and will take part in the planning of operations. The ultimate goal of the Transport Supervisor is to ensure operations run smoothly by giving adequate driver and vehicle support. The personality and character of the successful applicant will be first and foremost for this position as you will be joining an established team who are always striving for better. There will be daily direct customer contact, so strong verbal communication skills and a personable approach are a must. Key Accountabilities: Ensure the vehicles are roadworthy and compliant and take necessary actions in case of unforeseen events. Ensure drivers complete vehicle checks correctly. Debrief and manage drivers' hours. Manage driver behaviours and performance and ensure any action required is taken in line with company policies and procedures. Conduct Driver 1 to 1's. Support drivers and ensure their wellbeing. Assist the Operations Manager in planning the weekly workload and organisation of manpower to ensure that all runs are covered in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Knowledge, Skills, Experience: Experience in driver and vehicle support and/or management. Good understanding of transport and driver's legislation. Great attention to detail. Proficiency in computer skills. Strong and approachable communication skills. A self-motivated and proactive approach. Ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets. Ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Collaborative spirit. Commitment to upholding HSE company policies. Driving License required. HGV License beneficial but not a necessity. Job Offer: GBP27,000 to GBP30,000 DOE. Monday to Friday Office hours (Generally 09:00 to 17:00). One week per month of "On call" duties. Private Health Care. Employee Discounts. For one week per month, the transport supervisor will be required to look after the operations during evening and weekends. They will monitor the phone (using company mobile phone) and deal with any enquiry/issue that arises. During the "on-call weekend", there will be planning responsibilities for the following day (Saturday for Sunday and Sunday for Monday). The on-call duties will be home based (outside of office hours) and will not require physical attendance. Paid overtime will be required from time to time.
