Morning shift:
Start time: 0530hrs
Lunch break (30 mins): 1200-1230
Finish time: 1530hrs
Afternoon shift:
Start time: 1100
Lunch break (30 mins): 1400-1430
Finish time: 2000hrs
+ 4 hours Saturday (0800-1200)
The 2 successful candidates will alternate these shifts on a 2-week rolling rota.
Salary: negotiable on experience.
Job Summary
Our services are always in demand, and to ensure our clients' requirements are met with safety, efficiency, professionalism, and a positive approach, the team is organized and coordinated by the Operations Manager who effectively deploys the team across multiple sites ensuring the right resource is in the right place at the right time.
Daily Responsibilities
Make sure all pallets arriving in from the network are scanned at the depot.
Discrep size if needed.
Print out loading manifests / driver’s paperwork.
Liaise with forklift drivers in terms of loading priority.
Assess all loads and adjust if needed.
Brief all drivers on arrival for work, in terms of their loads.
Make sure that all drivers have EPODs and they are signed in and working before leaving the depot.
Complete ad hoc ‘gate checks’ with drivers to make sure daily walk-round checks are being completed.
Report any defects, even minor, to TM for rectification work to be carried out.
Print 2nd run manifests and paperwork.
Discrep any pallets / consignments that have not arrived.
Warehouse scan.
Check warehouse scan – action accordingly.
Book in consignments that require booking in.
Check for missing PODs and upload.
Check both systems to make sure our customers' pallets are on schedule for delivery, prioritizing timed, AM, etc.
Monitor customer implants and action collections.
Liaise with warehouse supervisor to organize warehouse dispatches accordingly.
Monitor and assist drivers, ensuring they are getting through deliveries and collections in a timely manner.
Liaise with other member depots regarding delays to deliveries.
Speak to customers if there are issues with their deliveries and act accordingly.
Liaise with TM regarding equipment needed at the garage for inspections / work to be completed.
Coordinate loading of trunks, organizing additional trunking capacity if needed.
Start route planning for the following day and adjust accordingly throughout the afternoon.
Debrief drivers on return to the depot, ensuring they hand in all delivery notes and that manifests are signed off.
Upload TPN COP / Hazchem delivery notes onto the systems as the paperwork is handed in.
Ensure all EPOD devices are handed in and placed on charge ready for the following day.
Make sure all outbound pallets to hubs are scanned out and that the TPN dashboard matches and all pallets are accounted for.
Liaise with night trunk drivers regarding their duties and ensure they have all the relevant paperwork for the night's work (Hazchem manifest / TPN booking sheets).
Ensure all routing is finalized and ready for the early shift to work from.
Experience
Previous experience in an operations or administrative role is preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with pallet network is desirable but not essential.
Familiarity with office software and tools is advantageous.
