Shift:
Nights / 7p-7a, 12×3, 36 hrs per week, every other weekend and every other holiday Length:
13 weeks Requirements: VA License At least 1 year experience in cardiac surgery Dysrhythmia required (study guide available) ACLS BLS TNCC preferred PCCN preferred CCRN preferred TCRN preferred NIH preferred RN-BC Registered Nurse – Board Certified preferred Education Bachelor of Science Nursing preferred 6 months RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department Unit preferred Training EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training preferred Critical Care Course preferred Other Details: No locals accepted (locals are considered to be 50 miles away from the facility) 5 bed ICU Vasopressors, blood, sedation, paralytics CVLs, temporary HD caths, Swan catheters, impella, balloon pump, CRRT Ventilator, bipap Patient population is underserved with multiple chronic co-morbidities Support staff is RT, 2-3 nurses on unit Need to be very independent and confident with taking fresh post-op CABG, AVR/MVR that may require balloon pump or impella. Cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) travel nurse jobs provide care to acutely ill patients who are recovering from cardiothoracic (CTICU) conditions or events, such as open heart surgery, AAA repairs and CABG. A CVICU travel nurse must be capable of administering care on a full spectrum, from clinical tasks such as medical history analysis and diagnostic testing, to personal care such as counseling patients and family regarding home-care and wellness. Overall, the CVICU nurse treats some of the most acutely ill patients in the hospital, and must do so safely and compassionately.
