This is a pivotal role within a small, agile Finance function with exposure to Senior Management, Funding Partners and BC Partners with a fundamental impact on our development and growth. This is a newly created role and so will have some scope to be shaped as you embed into the role. You will be responsible for driving improvements across the Finance team to continue progress made to date in achieving a ‘gold standard’ Finance function. Key responsibilities The Treasury & Finance Manager is a vital role within the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio business and will require excellent attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement. The successful Treasury & Finance Manager will play a key role in leading and shaping our Finance function and will have full responsibility for improving the processes, controls, structure and culture that make a ‘gold standard’ Finance function. Specific duties Technical treasury go-to person within the business Creation of BAU Treasury deliverables, including forecasting of cashflows and reporting for our funding providers Implement best practices in treasury management, including cashflow management, hedging and funding optimisation Advise on Treasury tactical and strategic decision-making, based on the contractual agreements with our funders and the aims of the business Support other members of the Finance team where required with treasury and finance expertise Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets (including, but not limited to, reconciliations and leading on fixing any data discrepancies) Coordinate and manage external audits, liaising closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations Conduct financial risk assessments and develop strategies for risk mitigation Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency and accuracy Leverage technology, including AI, to enhance processes The ideal candidate will also lead some of the core Finance areas, in addition to the Treasury team, including: Prepare and oversee the generation of statutory financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements Implement best practices in financial reporting, processes and accounting Lead preparation of monthly management information Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements, including tax filings (such as corporation tax and R&D claims) Ensuring sound cost management and controls within Finance and the wider business KPIs & Deliverables BAU Treasury processes are carried out accurately, efficiently and on time Processes are improved where needed to increase accuracy, efficiency and timeliness – using technology, including AI, to automate as much as possible Expertise is used to guide effective tactical and strategic Treasury decision-making Strict controls are implemented and maintained to reduce risk Senior management have confidence that outputs are accurate, supported by data and robust controls OPPORTUNITY This role is an excellent platform for experienced professionals to take their career to the next level and an opportunity unlikely to be found anywhere else. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.
