About the role:

The purpose of this role is to support the Financial Controller with managing the treasury activities occurring within EMR. Primarily this will include cashflow forecasting and monitoring cash balances and upcoming payments to ensure EMR remains contractually compliant. Activities will support the business in all activities impacting treasury, including but not limited to banking and payments, accounts payable and accounts receivable - being a key contact and link with EMR's shared service centre contacts.

Key responsibilities include:

Production and ongoing maintenance of EMR's cashflow forecast and regularly monitoring of cash balances and upcoming cash payments. Review and support the preparation of bank payments and billing requests to ensure documentation is prepared accurately and in an auditable manner. In doing so, support the develop of systems and processes to achieve a more robust treasury environment. Support the Financial Controller in ensuring EMR remains compliant with the payment mechanisms of the National Rail Contract and other rules EMR is required to adhere to. Development and maintenance of company policies for finance and treasury management, including the performance of reviews of business activities and the delivery of associated reporting to ensure business compliance with these policies. This will include but is not limited to policies including payments, credit card usage and employee expenses. Administration of the Financial Control SharePoint. Develop and maintain the relationship between the Finance team, other EMR colleagues, and the Shared Service Centre to ensure EMR achieves it payment and processing KPI targets, and to ensure treasury processes are effective at minimising bank charges and administrative effort/cost Complete balance sheet reconciliations for treasury and other areas as prescribed. Liaise with other team members and procurement to maintain ongoing contractual arrangement for treasury linked contracts. About you:

Experience in a treasury environment/finance function. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation, and cross functional. Experience in cashflow forecasting and cash management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work quickly and independently within a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and time management skills. Willingness to travel to other Transport UK and External party locations will be expected within this role when required.
