Symphony Healthcare Services (SHS) are looking to appoint a Treatment Room Nurse for their Burnham & Berrow and Highbridge Medical Centres. We are looking for a committed and experienced nurse to join a fantastic nursing team, to work across all three medical centres. The vacant role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and the salary is £35,506 per annum. You also have the option of joining an NHS Pension, which is just one of SHS's many excellent employee benefits. You would be part of a nursing team responsible for ensuring that each medical centre provides optimum care relevant to the practice population, either in practice or the home environment. Experience in wound care and general nursing duties is desirable. Main duties of the job

As a SHS Treatment Room Nurse, you will: Assist the whole practice team to help deliver effective management of patients and their needs. Manage the nursing care of patients with chronic disease, employing recall systems suitable to the practice needs, including using the practice computer systems for input of information for recall and screening purposes. Contribute to the development of policies, protocols, and guidelines within the practice. Aid the practice team with implementation of new initiatives in the delivery of chronic disease management services. Encourage the development of integrated services within Primary Care, including integrated practice-based teams and multidisciplinary working. Recognise opportunities for working in partnership with the Primary Health care team. Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with a known long-term condition. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care. About us

As a SHS Treatment Room Nurse, your duties will include the following clinical skills (this list is not exhaustive): Wound care, dressings and general treatment room skills Urinalysis Contraceptive advice, Family planning, Sexual Health Cytology Assist with Coil removal Maintaining Thyroxine register Ear Syringing ECG BT, BP and Weight Diet and Lifestyle advice Injections (B12, Triptorelin, Zoladex, and Depo etc.) Stock checking and ordering of vaccines Chronic Disease Management Your skills will include some or all of the following (this list is not exhaustive): Mental Health Diabetes Asthma/COPD CHD Please see the attached job description and person specification (JD) for a full list of duties, tasks, and expectations. Qualifications

Willingness to learn and acquire new skills. Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the NHS. Post-registration study in topics allied to general practice. Experience

Evidence of appropriate knowledge base. Interest and basic knowledge in long-term conditions. Demonstrate an understanding of audit. Primary Care Experience. Experience of working in a General Practice setting. Experience of using a GP Clinical System (EMIS preferred). Basic/advanced certificate of life support. Awareness of national service framework guidelines. Understanding of health and safety issues. Knowledge and Skills

Good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrates motivation, reliability, and commitment to teamwork. Knowledge of the needs of patients with long-term conditions. Evidence of problem-solving and decision-making skills. Aware of accountability of own role and other roles in a nurse-led service. Knowledge of health promotion strategies. Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care. Knowledge of patient group directions and associated policy. Able to use own initiative. Able to work under pressure.
