Trials Officer
Trials Officer – West Yorkshire - £27,500 DOE
The Job:
As a Trials Officer, you will play a critical role in designing, conducting, and managing commercial product efficacy and selectivity trials to uphold our client’s reputation for high-quality research and reporting. This involves creating and coordinating scientific experiments, applying products, collecting and analyzing data, and producing detailed, accurate reports. You will also provide basic diagnostics for turfgrass pests and diseases and deliver essential research support to the organization, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure the success of trials and related projects.
Your responsibilities include managing all practical aspects of research, preparing trial plans, drawings, and management regimes for trial sites, and maintaining accurate records of pesticides and active substances in compliance with regulations. You will assist with trial preparations, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and maintained, and manage laboratory inventory and ordering. Additionally, you will produce high-quality reports for approval by the Research Manager and contribute to diagnostics and problem-solving related to turfgrass health and management.
The Candidate:
NPTC spraying certificate (PA1, PA6) – training provided if needed
Knowledge of pesticides, weeds, grasses, pests, and diseases (training provided)
Computer literacy with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint
Strong communication skills and effective time management
General knowledge of turf management regimes
Full, clean UK driving licence
The Package:
- Salary: £24,500 - £27,500 per year DOE
