Job summary Applications are invited for a Trust Grade for Ophthalmology at the Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton, starting March 2025. The Sussex Eye Hospital within University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist eye hospital and the main training hub of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery/School of Ophthalmology. We serve a population of approximately 750,000. The Sussex Eye Hospital has an active role in research, supported by its own research team and the trust research department. Main duties of the job The clinical duties of the post include the following: General Clinics Glaucoma Clinics Operating lists (surgical glaucoma and cataract) Eye Casualty Laser clinic In addition to most general ophthalmic services, the Sussex Eye Hospital offers highly specialised ophthalmology tertiary care. There are many complex glaucoma cases to manage as well as straightforward glaucoma suspects, OHT, and stable glaucoma patients. The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant.
