Trust IT Manager

Your new company This multi-academy has a strong North West presence, with an excellent reputation and plans to further grow and expand across the region. With schools based across Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester, the trust currently has 13 schools and is continuously delivering on new trust-wide projects. The trust IT Manager will become an integral part of the IT team where you will have the opportunity to further develop and grow your role. Your new role Reporting to the Trust IT Director, your role will involve project management, IT leadership, and technical support. From a leadership perspective, you will oversee the infrastructure of 4 educational sites, managing a team of 4 IT Engineers based across the primary and secondary sites. This will involve ensuring that the IT Engineers are performing in line with role requirements, ensuring that projects are delivered with support from the engineers, and conducting regular 1:1s and reviews in line with company policy. Project management will form approximately 50% of the role, as the trust is standardising all infrastructure and currently delivering projects such as migration projects, cyber projects, new sign-in systems, and various others as they work towards a modern and enhanced IT infrastructure. From a technical perspective, you will oversee the infrastructure across all 4 sites with support from the IT Engineers and the IT Director. This will involve providing technical support with hardware, software, and bespoke educational technologies and systems, including AV equipment. As IT Manager, you will also work closely with leadership and academic staff on site, ensuring they are kept up to date on system advancements and updates, advising on how the improvements will enhance teaching and learning, and ensuring users are trained correctly by the IT team. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in securing this position, you must have significant IT management experience in the education sector, having previously worked in either a school, trust, or college. Experience of leading and managing a technical IT team is essential, having previously been responsible for carrying out reviews and development plans and having a passion for developing other IT engineers. You will also have experience delivering IT projects, alongside strong technical knowledge. The IT Director is keen to appoint an individual who has a real passion for providing a high level of IT support, who possesses strong communication skills, and who is a dedicated IT professional looking to become an integral part of the wider IT team.
