Job Description

This is a project role. The project is for the construction of a, first of its kind, large diameter, high-pressure, cross-country pipeline in the northwest of England. Reporting to the Project Manager - Trenchless, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the coordination and execution of site investigation works for the design of multiple tunnels on a major infrastructure project. Later the role will transition to the management of the subcontracts for the construction phase of the tunnels. The role will require the appointee to provide leadership to all personnel in the field, working closely with the wider project management team to execute the works. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned technical and engineering aspects of the project. Translating code and specification into practical terms for other staff to understand and follow. Leading on the maintenance of health, safety, environment and quality standards on-site. Identifying potential problems with the project, leading the team into developing solutions and ensuring that they are implemented. Hosting frequent briefings with site teams to build morale and inform them of their daily activities. Working with third-party contractors to develop viable time scales and working practices. Specifying and scheduling site investigations, including geotechnical, geophysical and topographical surveys. Completing independent project-related tasks and collaborating with multiple discipline design and project teams. Offering strong, effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team across the wider business. Qualifications

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, civil or geotechnical preferred. Current, or working towards, membership of an engineering professional body. Some prior relevant experience in the tunnel industry or other heavy earthworks discipline. Proven working experience as a Project Engineer. Excellent knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD or ArcGIS. Advanced MS Office skills. Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards. Project management and supervision skills. Decision making ability and leadership skills. Time management and organization skills. Valid driving licence. Additional Information

This job is a full-time role, 8am-5pm Monday to Friday from our Warrington Office.
