Job Description Summary Based in Watford, the Linux System Engineer will assist with designing, building, and unit testing code to deliver products that meet quality standards. Engineers will have the opportunity to develop their technical knowledge and workplace skills. Key Responsibilities: Support the existing Tusker web environments, both production and pre-production.
Work closely with the Tusker development team to assist in the delivery of projects.
Application of patches and upgrades regularly, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Installation of new IT equipment (servers, services, settings, storage, policies, etc.).
What You’ll Need: Experience in Linux (Ubuntu and Debian preferred), AWS (EC2 and RDS), VMware, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Apache, NGINX.
Experience with monitoring tools is vital.
Ability to deliver support services by using customer systems and protocols.
Experience in knowledge management tasks and product development/engineering activities.
Experience in risk monitoring and assessment tasks.
Additional Useful Experience: Physical servers maintenance and servicing.
Experience with Puma, Windows server, Exchange, Dell Boomi Atoms.
Maintaining and improving DNS and firewalls.
Experience with SAN storage and supporting database servers (Oracle preferred, Postgres or MySQL).
