Faster Fit Tyres are looking for an experienced Tyre fitter to join our family run business located in Scunthorpe.
The candidate must have previous experience of tyre fitting and tracking. Any experience in fast fit/mechanical repairs such as brake pads/discs, suspension (springs and shock absorbers), steering (track rods, ball joints and bushes) is an added advantage.
We have 2 vacancies for permanent positions, up to 5 days a week, and we are open 7 days a week. Candidates must specify their available days and how many days they would like to work. There is a possibility of additional days for sickness and holiday cover.
The candidate must be able to arrive at work in Scunthorpe on time during working hours (Monday to Saturday: 08:45 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday: 10:00 am to 4:30 pm).
The job involves every aspect of the day-to-day running of the workshop. As a small business, the role entails cash handling, inventory management, answering the telephone, and all related duties in a retail environment.
The Role and Responsibilities:
Advise customers of work required to ensure vehicles are in roadworthy condition. Fitting of New/Part Worn Tyres on Cars/Vans. Puncture Repairs using British Standard Tools in accordance with the Technical Standards and Work Instructions. Wheel Balancing. Wheel Removal using Jacks. Laser Wheel Alignment Tracking. Mechanical repairs on Cars/Vans. Brake pads/discs Replacement. Suspension (springs and shock absorbers). Steering (track rod, ball joints, and bushes). Parts & Labour pricing. Stock management and ordering – placing goods into storage. Cash Handling. Answering Phone queries. General workshop duties - Contribute to Good Housekeeping routines. Understand and adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures. Unloading / Loading deliveries of tyres in bulk. Using computers to load stock information and generate invoices.
