bookRoom at University for the Creative Arts is seeking a PhD candidate interested in working with archives: Project Topic:

Managing the Archives: Photomonitor and bookRoom This is a timely area of research that seeks to draw from the robust research culture that evolved through bookRoom activities for the past 10 years on emerging artistic and photographic publishing practices, alongside an examination of the Photomonitor platform, one of the leading spaces in which new photographies are written about and featured. This proposal builds on a collaboration between Photography at UCA Farnham / bookRoom and Photomonitor initiated by Caroline Molloy to commission new online features for this established online publication. These two leading research and advocacy spaces have had a significant impact in their field by supporting artists, photographers, researchers, and writers not often given a voice, alongside more established ones, thus contributing to the development of many careers while bridging the gap between dominant and emergent photographic and publishing practices and discourses. Potential to apply for a fee waiver or full scholarship if successful. Get in touch if you are interested. To find out more and to apply please go to the direct link.
